Soft blend overlays

[Morbid]

I've been experimenting with adding textured backgrounds using soft light blends, this shot is made up of two 'background' layers, a colour layer and a shot of my son shot against white wall (which exposed to grey).

I quite like the effect this "accident" produced....

I like that too but I'm not sure how you created it, were the stripes on one of the layers

Thanks sirch, yes the stripes were on one of the background layers. Same layer was used twice with a mask on one layer only. The dark/light areas are from a separate masked background layer. Darker solid colour layer over the top/masked to increase the saturation.

Love the overall "feel" of the shot, but would prefer the striped layer not extend over your (cute!) son's face.

Prefer the original too, it's a bit different than just adding a background.

I like this and was going to suggest removing the stripes off the face, I scroll down and it has been done! Great image
