Hi All

I have a IMac and am looking for some basic photo Image software

Any recommendations :help:

How much editing do you do on each photo?
You get iPhoto bundled with OSX and it will handle RAW files as well as JPEGS. The editing functionality is a bit limited though but will let you straighten, crop, adjust colour and exposure etc...
Next step up from there is Aperture. Costs a bit more, but is a lot more powerful.
There's also Adobe LightRoom, which is similar in price and functionality to Aperture.
If you're into full on editing, there's Photoshop, but that's expensive.

Aperture and LR both have trial versions available for download. Give them both a go and see which you prefer.

There are others to consider as well, like Googles Picassa for example.

basic, well i assume you have iphoto - is that too basic for you?

Yes I have Iphoto

But want something to straighten horizons , I had Photo Shop on a PC and probably used about 5% of what it can do

Managed to clone things and play with some levels but nothing too technical

Yes, PS Elements will do what you are after and is a nice little program and not expensive.

Corel PSP is also very good and will also adjust perspectives which is very useful.

iPhoto will do most of that (as above), the other options, getting more expensive, are Photoshop Elements, Apple Aperture (like iPhone but with more features), Lightroom then Photoshop. All of them have free trials so you can see how you get on with them.
