Software on Mac's & Prices???

I really would like to own a macbook one day (but finance is the current limiting factor)

Just doing a bit of research.

The main use will be (or equivalent):
- Word
- Excel
- some kind of post processing software i.e. Photoshop (never used any, but something else I want to learn)

What's the budget price I should set for the above? I've clicked on Mac store for add on's but are those going to be the cheapest prices?

Everything else can be downloaded like Itunes, web browser upgrade etc.

Office applications

You are looking at open office (free), iWorks (£54 preinstalled) or MSOffice (£109)

Graphics

Same price as the PC for CS4 / Photoshop etc

As Cowasaki said, although don't forger Elements (cheaper on both PC and Mac than the full Photoshop) and on Mac you have iPhoto as standard for managing pictures, or Aperture at about £120 which does much the same as Lightroom.
