With my new toys being so different from my last camera, When it all comes will photoplusx3 do the same for DSLR images as it did for point and shoot? Or do I need to get specialised software?

Photoplus will do them just the same Julian, no problem there.
But if you want to edit raws then there are plugins you can use or get PS Elements.

You'll probably get some software with the main kit too.

I've been using Photo Plus for years now in various upgrades and now use Photo Plus X2 and find it does almost everything I need.

Apart from not having the ability to use Photoshop plug ins it's a great program and much much cheaper.

And you can always convert your RAW files to TIFF then edit them in Photo Plus - which is what I did.
