ive been given an oppertunity by a part time business website designer to take the photos of the business for website and business cards, as ive never done this before id like some advise on the best ways to take the photos and lighting etc any ideas would be greatful as im quite new to this

ive been told that if this one goes right then i could end up with a permanent part time photographer postion for this graphic designer so i hope to be the best i can

If it were me I would ask for what specific photos he wants, saying he wants one of the business is a bit vague.

Its a bit like saying I want to buy a car without specifying make-model - colour-variant - new - old, as a comparison

First of all great opportunity, bet your proper happy about that!

Second, first of all I would say what are they looking for? Try and get a brief of what sort of images the business are after even provide examples. When I've done this before I have taken pictures quietly in the corner at board meetings (always double check first though :))

Also done some of the outside of the building, but I would say first you need to find out what they are expecting, this will give you a better chance of getting the permanent position :)

That's my opinion anyway! Best of luck and post here if you need more help.

i undertstand obviously knowing what the client will want picture wise, but the website designer is a she, and she used to take the photos on a point and shoot camera but wants to be a bit more professional about it, i will ask her to find out what images of the business are needed and post from there thanks for the comments
