Managed to get a few days away in north Norfolk over Christmas, and went to some of the nature reserves there. These are quite definitely not th best pictures I have seen of these birds, but, for me, they are all firsts, so please excuse me posting them as I feel relatively pleased with the results. Not being a bird watcher, except during the winter months when there are fewer insects, if any are incorrectly identified I will happily accept correction.
1. Kingfisher
Seen at Cley Marshes Reserve, run by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust. Previously, nearer to home, all I had ever seen was a flash of blue disappearing into the distance. To see a Kingfisher perched relatively close at hand was something that I had never expected might happen, let alone be able to take a picture of one.
2. Bar-tailed Godwit
Seen above the beach at Holme Dunes Nature Reserve, again run by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust.
3. Oyster Catcher
Seen flying along the edge of the beach between Hunstanton and Old Hunstanton just after noon on Christmas Day.
Hope you enjoy these shots as much as I did seeing these lovely birds.
Hope that everyone has a "Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year".
