Yea No.1's a M. Brown. No.2 is just fascinating I'm interested to know that one! Great set BTW (y)

Nice set #2 is a chironomid midge oh and they don't bite ;)

Thanks Alby, i knew I could rely on you for an ID :)
Having just googled that, why is mine green and the head completely different?
No idea on #2?

EDIT: Oh, and thank you RJL and Yv (y)

Some are green, that is a male with the feathers on it's head, they use them to locate the females. Females just have small antenna.

Thanks again Alby.
I have done some investigating, and have come up with a Mint Leaf beetle for #2. What do you/anyone think?

Really impressive set...........particularly the butterfly:clap:

Thanks again Alby.

Agreed, Chrysolina menthastri.

The bee is a bumble bee, probably Bombus terrestris.

Nice shots, like the meadow brown best.

Thanks crusher and jomike.

I've just work out the chironomid midge :bonk: It has it's head down, and is hiding behind the feelers. I'd assumed that the pink bits were it's eyes, and posibly a nose!!
