I found this photo on my camera and have no idea how it has turned out like this... I checked all the settings and nothing seemed odd or strange about them, yet the photo looks infrared... can anyone tell me how this may have happened?! Thanks!

sorry here are the details of the shot:
taken with canon EOS 600D,
F-stop f/7.1
exposure time 1/125 sec.
ISO speed ISO-100
focul length 55mm
no flash
EXIF version 0230

do you want anymore details? thanks for your interest!

What conditions was it taken in?
Guessing it was in a night club, red glow from lights and blue suggests uv lighting. No flash so it's all from ambiant light.

No it was taken in pure daylight on a boat which makes it all the more strange...

Here is another one that came out the same.. it is of a rock face going into the sea..

Arabella, do all the photos you have taken look like these?

If so, unless there is some special setting on your camera that has become set without you knowing, I think you need to have your camera looked at.

Can you set the camera back to its default setting and take a few test shots to check?

Dave

No the majority of my shots are absolutely normal, it's just the very very occassional one that turns UV on me! As soon as I turn off my camera and then turn it back on it takes them perfectly. Would you say that it's most likely a fault with my camera?

Thanks so much Dave :)

That may be the answer! I'll have a look at getting myslef a new card if it gets any worse. Thanks for your help :)

That happened to me too with my 600d(just the once so far), and it was bright sunshine on the day.

confused i am

Hmm so maybe it's a camera fault after all... It doesn't affect me that badly but i'm just so confused as to why this happens.. do you think the light conditions are the problem as mine were taken in bright sunshine too?

Yes that looks exactly the same! Well looks like it might be something to do with our camera design... Glad that it's not just me who's discovered this confusing outcome! Thanks so much for trying to help me out with this one :)

One thing, this is just shooting in the dark though ( pun not intended ) , after you have downloaded your files, dont ever format the card on the PC. Put it back in the camera and format it there. Do this every time you put the card back in the camera, and see if this thing re-occurs
