I'm no expert on this area (or any other for that matter !
) but really would like to learn more about it, so this is simply my interpretation of each picture based on what I've hopefully learnt so far. I do hope someone more knowledgeable in this type of photography will be along to offer us both more advise ........
No.1 - I think the subject would have been better centred on the white area, maybe with his arms raised as if he was holding the partitions back ?
No.2 - Forgetting the pose, I would have removed the chair from behind him as it seems to serve no purpose or add to the photograph.
No.3 - Again, the chair appears to serve no purpose. Maybe having him put one foot on the chair leaning forwards slightly and looking at the camera would have worked better ?
No.4 - I would have left more space to the left of the picture for the subject to 'look' into.
No.5 - I think the pose makes him look like he's just been told off for something !
I think it's the hands. I would have maybe got him to put them in the jacket pockets and lean back on the chair a little to make him look more relaxed ?
No.6 - I quite like, I would choose this as the strongest of them all.
No.7 - I think this would have been quite a comical pose but looks a little strange with his feet chopped off.
No.8 - Again, I think the hands could have been far better positioned, maybe with one on each leg instead ?
I think the lack of eye contact in some of the pictures also gives the impression that the subject didn't realise you were photographing him at the time.
Seriously, this is just my opinion and I'd be most interested to hear the views of someone who specialises in this type of photography just to see whether I'm actually learning anything !
