Haven't been on this forum for quite a while, for me paid a rare visit to a BSB round at Cadwell.
Seem to spend more time catching up watching than taking pictures, hadn't planned to put any up
but I thought why the not even there is nothing out of the ordinary here.
. All taken from the specie side and with the Nikon 80-400 e=which I found to be a lot better than I thought it would be.

Did find it rather difficult to get the rust off so please feel free to rip away and thanks for looking

Aye, you've not lost your touch, Graham, despite all that poofy landscape stuff:rolleyes:

Really love 1, 2 and 8.

Back with a bang Graham. Really good set. #1 and #3 great racing shots. Wee bit of landscape in #4 lol.

Great set
Used to go to watch BSB a lot at one time, hoping to get back next season with my camera

Great set, my favourites are the first and last

Thanks Daryl

Nice set 1st and 8th

Thanks David

Thanks Gary its probably one of the best racing days out.

Meh... ;) Really good stuff... #1 would be my favourite but the marshal point is spoiling it for me (otherwise outstanding) so #2 has to take the honours for me :) I have a friend who uses the D800 and he doesn't seem to be able to get any sort of focus accuracy (although he's in denial about it)... From looking around it seems that Canon has a bit of an advantage in that area, although that's not evident in your images (I guess he's just not very good, or the D810 is better... either way I won't be telling him that lol).

Cheers Jonathan, do agree with you about the marshall post did um and ah about this one has I have rather a lot of Mr Brookes over the mountain but I just prefer the body position in this one.
The D810 is better but I found the D800 to be pretty good although I think the keeper ratio with it was lower but in some ways I didn't mind that has it makes the sorting out a bit easier.
From what I seen the Canon seems to have the edge but I am impressed with the Nikon 80-400.

Really like these.
I love Cadwell, small track, close for spectators and that Mountain rise poses some great potential...
No's 1 and 8 for me, in terms of timing and composition.
Understand the point about the Marshallers, but hey, safety, bright orange and positioning never help us 'Toggers'...

Cheers Paul. You either seem to get the marshall in orange or another toga dressed with a fluorescent yellow jacket on :)

You've made great use of the elevation changes that Cadwell has to offer,I really like the Ben Wilson shot at Hall bends and the two different views of the Mountain in 4 & 7. I've just bought a 300 f2.8 and am starting to wonder if I should have gone for the 80-400 or Siggy 120-300 after a couple of outings with it, as being fixed at 300 is quite limiting.

Thanks Paul, had a 300 f2.8 it a stunning lens. The only reason I sold it was that I got feed up carrying it about. For me the 2.8 primes really come into there own when your shooting through fences.

Yes I used it at the Le Mans kart circuit a couple of weeks ago up against the fence and it worked perfectly, a couple of French guys next to me were telling me not to shoot from there, so I had to show them an image on the back screen to prove that the fence didn't show up ! I'm looking forward to trying it at Brands next month, although not carrying around the GP loop in the mud !

I'm a massive fan of BSB and Road Racing so these are porn to me. Love the Josh brookes shot awesome work fella .
