What is the subject? The gate or the couple.
There is a gravel path running perpendicular to the gate. Would this not not have been a better place to stand and use the converging lines?
Were you the main photographer or just a bystander? Is this shot conceived by you?

its just one of the shots taken on the day, I shot some very wide angles of the house. I havent posted any of the selected images as the couple have yet to view, so have just used some of the images that are not to be used for the couple if you follow. http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=319680 the shot further out.

The first one isn't one of the best, one way to rescue it would be a close crop on the couple. Second one a lot better. Very nice place to have a wedding!

#1 all wonky and looks like it on a hill, never good- the lawn slopes badly

most of the detail ??? I would say not to my eyes.

Certainly the second shot is better but the groom looks a bit on the stiff side with his right arm hanging straight down. Have to agree about the dress, there's no detail at all on the right side below the posy.
