Hi

I got my A200 yesterday and the flash seems to be multi flashing, like a strobe light, is this how it is, or is it a special setting?

Can't find how to change it

Thanks, Vicky

That'll be the red eye reduction feature.

Or, it is using the flash as an auto focus assist lamp.

Ooo I think it may be this, it's likely to give any living thing a seizure if I try and shoot them :lol:

its the red reduction which can be turned of by going menu the go across 2 pages to the right.

Hmmm that maybe why, as we were testing it inside in the dim light.

Is that just how the flash is on the Sony's?

Ah ha, excellent

No probs... I had the same thing happen to me and was told on this forum what it was. I thought I had broken the camera. BTW how do t you find the A200 ?

sorted thanks :) yeah the camera is ok, still getting used to it I think, i used to have a Nikon D40, and it's alot different

Just a thought Vicky.

I am assuming you bought the camera second hand and did not manage to find a new one.

If the previous owner had set red eye reduction, they might have made other changes that you are not aware of.

It might be worth doing a factory reset. I am sure there is one, but I have not had an A200 for over a year and I can't find any of my old manuals to check where it is.

Just remember any changes you have made.

Oh thats good idea, will have a look at th manual tonight :D
