Sony A6000 + 16-50 noise issue

I have just sold my Sony A6000 + 16-50 lens on ebay, it worked perfectly. The purchaser is complaining the lens is noisy when zoomed. Well there certainly was a noise but I never gave this a second thought so is this normal. If you have this camera lens combo is it silent, slightly noisy, very noisy. Any help appreciated.

When you use the zoom switch, the lens slightly hums. If you twist the lens to zoom its very noisy.

I haven't got mine in front of me but can't say I've ever found the 16-50 noisy? When manually zooming you will feel the elements moving due to friction of the gears inside the lens so I think that may add the to the impression of noise.
