Sony A700 dead pixels?

Today is the first time i've used my new A700 and i think it has got some dead pixels. Below is the photo and a crop of the area wher I think I've found dead pixels (in the corners of the crop).

What do you guys think?

These are straight out of the camera except the raw to jpeg conversion but nothing else has been done? I thought maybe it was a dodgy specular highlight but I think it's unlikely.
 
Does this come out in every picture you take in the same place? Because it doesn't look like a dead pixel to me. Not sure what it looks like really. Nice picture though :)
 
Hot Pixels maybe?
I know the Sony range is famous for that but generally its only in night shots.
 
This looks like some dust on your sensor to me too be honest. Have it cleaned at a local camera shops or something. But watch out if you try it yourself, they are very sensitive.

put the date on the body forward a month - that should kick the pixel mapping on & see if they disappear.

It wasn't there at the beginning of the shoot but came in later on, first the bottom blob then the tope one.

Didn't know about the reputation but could well be hot pixels I suppose. Will try it again tonight as the camera will have been switched off for a while. Is the sensor energised the whole time the camera is on or is it only when the shutter is fired? The camera was on for about 2 hours but I only took about 40 photos.

Try some other and put two photos on top of each other in a new layer and lower teh opacity of the top one and see it the spot match

I've got several frames with them in the same place, first the lower one then the upper one.

Didn't know about that, thanks. I'm beginning to think it is more likely the hot pixel thing rather than dead pixel as they're deifnately more than one pixel and a bit of a random shape.

If they are really bugging you then they could probably be mapped-out. Basically what the remap does is tell the processor to ignore the dead or stuck pixel. I'm not sure this would be a DIY task, you used to be able to download a fix for some Nikons (and others?) to do it, but if something like that isn't available then otherwise it's back to Sony to get it done.
 
FITP, Sonys have automatic pixel mapping once per month built into the body - see post #7 ;)
