i have just came back from abroad and found out that it is really hard to get a sony a700 note. Can someone enlighten me to the rumour or not that sony discontinued it.

Sorry probably me being thick, but what do you mean by "Sony A700 note.".....never heard of one!! :shrug:

The A700 is discontinued. There were a few "end of line" offers on it a couple of months back and some people got real bargains.

If you want one you're likely to have more luck second hand, I've seen one or two come up for sale on dyxum recently.

oh you can still find them - the retailers still with stock have them because they are charging noticeably more than the ~£500 that most were selling at a few months ago ...

the new a700 replacement is coming out soon so if you wait a while the a700's will be cheaper to buy new or loads will be sold second hand.

I wouldn't bet on the A700 replacement being in the shops before September.
& of course for the 1st 3 months or so it'll sell near srp before prices start to slide down to the typical 30% off.
