Sony A7S + Leica Lenses

Want to see compact? This is compact! Was my A7 with a CV 40 1.4 S.C.

Note the tiny adapter compared to a SLR adapter.

What's the output of this setup? any good for bokeh and microcontrast?

I think everyones seen your ramblings about that combination and A7 in general by now. And no, its still not compact like a LM lens, which is what hes looking for unless the aperture is super fast, then he'll consider additional size. I might be mistaken though, but doubt it.

That would be ideal yes :) and as far as adaptors go - I've remember seeing that canon adapter which is huge and ugly.. don't know if there are better versions but ...urgh.

Oh er... You are a nasty piece of work aren't you?

For whatever reason you seem to be off on a little crusade about this, you say the same thing in thread after thread.

The combination of A7 or MFT with old lenses and adapters may not be for everyone but they're simply not the gargantuan ungainly things you insist that they are in thread after thread after thread... but I'm tired of trying to provide a balanced view on this.

Twist, I've just had it with the repetitiveness of this and the added nastiness is the end of it for me. I ignore your posts and please ignore mine.

One of the reasons I sold my a7 was that my existing normal and wide SLR lenses were too bulky when used with such a small body. It did not make a compact system and thus defeated the purpose.

I'm now shooting Fuji with their fantastic native lenses, which feel much better balanced.
 
Presumably the A7 would be a very good alternative for a Leica digital …….. I am looking to replace my M8 because generally at anything over ISO 320 it can be dissapointing

I'm really considering getting an A7 to use with "old" MF lens, although I have just been using a DP3M for a couple of days and I can see why even with it's many many drawbacks and there are so many, it is such a unique, (for the price), and maybe just unique because it is unique ….. that I cannot put it down and I can see why some have bought all three "M" models.

The Sony FX bodies are however so appealing, I'm not sure I would buy another new Nikon DSLR, (I have what I need for birding with the D7100 and D700), until Nikon produce a mirroless FX body with an F mount fitting.

But Panamoz are now not delivering until after the New Year and Hdew do not stock Sony ……. plus also the A7ii is on sale albeit at a far higher price

This is an interesting discussion, reminds me go when M4/3's were first realised

I think you are confusing your posts with mine when it comes to repitition and defending the product. You make your point and i make mine, which is fair enough. Rambling was perhaps the incorrect word to use.

I know what the ops requirements are as weve discussed before. Whenever someone says anything about the size and issues with the a7 system you defend it to the death. As you can see the op and another poster have already agreed regarding the size.

Every system has issues, you and i both know that. But before the op burns 1500 quid on the a7s it might be a good idea to point out the good and bad.

If you want to ignore please go ahead but if we dont agree at least the OP can see the + and - which im sure is what they are looking for.

You can get the A7 with kit lens for around a grand in this country now, a bit more than Panamoz but maybe easier for you while you here. I have linked Wilkinson & LCE

just grabbed a used M10 off here, plus I've been playing with a DP3M for a few days ……… may try to pick up a DP1M ….. but these should keep me going in January for what I felt I was missing - I still have lots of MF glass plus the adaptors I bought for my EP-1 …….. but the A7 is certainly on the list to buy soon and I am intrigued by this camera
