Before i get round to having a good ganders at a Sony A900 at a dealer that stocks it does anyone here use it .. expecially with the pro CZ glass .. ?

The online shots ive seen from it are simply amazing ... :)

So if you use one your overall thoughts on it please ..

thanks

Its a stunning camera - image quality simply blows away the D300 / D700 at low ISO. Acuity is amazing - I guess D3X owners see a similar low ISO image quality advantage. It really is night and day for landscape work and I was "only" using a Tamron 17-35.

However.. I have just sold mine - reason being that I really didn't want to spend another £2.5k on the CZ lenses I wanted (16-35 and 24-70) especially when I have this already covered in Nikon fit. I was'nt ready to move on my D700...

However its a superb camera, and Nikon needs to take this seriously. If the D700x is stupidly overpriced vs the A900 (which is cheaper than a D700!) then I may well get another in the future.

As 'puddleduck' pointed out, the a900 takes very nice photos with bags of detail.

The main issue which 'puddleduck' found out, is that although the CZ glass is lovely glass, it's very new and not a lot comes up for sale secondhand.

Minolta 'G' glass can be found if you look in the right places, but prices for the glass worth owning are high due to demand.

I guess there is a lot less Minolta glass around than Canon and Nikon, and also probably fewer people switching from Sony->Canon|Nikon (due to less people owning Sony cams more than anything I would guess)
