Sony Alpha 50mm F/1.4 lens group on flickr

I don't use mine enough to join the group, but good luck with it. You got a good price there.

Hehe, I posted in both sections to try and grab peoples attention, and yet I am the only member.

Reminds me I should use mine more - I have the Sigma 24-70 f/2.8 as my walkabout zoom, and a Minolta 85 f/1.4 G - I will switch to that as it's a bit longer (and superb!) but tend not to for the 50 f/1.4

Anyone had the pleasure of using it on a A99?

I have. My copy needed a big whack of micro focus adjustment, but that was expected as it back-focussed on all my previous bodies.

Performance wise, its exactly the same as on the a850 (as you would expect). That is, it's soft and full of CA wide open, but good from about f2.2 and very good from f4 upwards.

You should! I'm looking to get the tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 to replace the 18-55 kit lens, and the Tamon 70-300mm USD as I broke my cheap tamron telephoto over a year ago...

The same as on my A33 then, although the lack of sharpness would be more noticeable when wide open I would imagine.
