Hi Guys and Girls.

I have just got the Sony Alpha A77 for Christmas and it is a wonderful piece of equipment. However I came across a problem at the weekend and I am looking for any solutions.

I was doing a studio shoot and the studio lights had been set up with a light meter. The exposure settings were put into the camera (1/125th, f9, ISO100). The modelling lights were very dim.
When I looked through the EVF it was pitch black with these settings so I could not compose the model in the image correctly I was having to guess and as a result I had lots of shots where limbs were cut into or sometimes cut off altogether.

My question is once the exposure is set in the camera how do I overcome the darkness of the EVF (Electronic View Finder)?

Regards
Gaz

Thanks Paul. I thought there must be some way of improving the brightness so I can compose the image. Otherwise it would be totally useless for Studio Photography.

Thanks Guys.....found the setting in the Menu, works like a treat .... soooo happy. Best Regards Gaz.

Yep, as above. Works great. It's a real surprise to me that they never included this in the A33/A55 which made the practically useless unless you fancied taping up the pop up flash.

I think it will either fire flash or the hotshoe? I've had that issue, f8 and wide angle and guess :-(
