Sony focusing problem

Taken untold amount of test shots tonight:bang: and I've had a guts full:bang: I have a sony a500 and a tamron 70-300mm I cannot get the effin' thing to focus correctly. UPDATE! seems to be the camera not the lens.

Bit more scientific, 45 degree ruler shot level focus point was 22cm, I'm guessing it's front focusing, but what do I do next.

have you tried using the live view to fine tune the focus? If so did it get any sharper?

OK just did a quick test with a tamron 70-300 I have here. It seems sharp enough here for the money, is there an issue with the Sony CCD stabilisation?

Latest update. These were taken with the sony 18-55mm kit lens. 1st was focusing from minimum focus and the second from infinity.

Don't say stuff like that, I've got too much sony gear to switch.

sorry but its the truth it just refused to focus and i took it back turned out to be faulty partly the reason i changed from sony to canon kinda glad i didnt go for the a500 now
