sorry this may sound daft

is 22mm on my sony kit lens the same as 22m on minolta ?

ok for instance
50mm on kit lens 18-70mm

does the 50mm on minolta the same ?

a lens will always stay the same ie a 18-70mm will always be that, the big factor is what your using it on, as the field of view from a 50mm lens on a dslr with a crop factor of
1.5x will give you the equivelent of having a 75mm lens on a full frame camera,

To answer your question simply (ignoring crop factors), 50mm is 50mm no matter what the make.
