Sony NEX-3 & NEX-5. Any difference at all in IQ?

From what I'm reading so far, there seems to be no difference in IQ between the 2 models. The differences are in build materials and certain functions.

Am I right in thinking this? I really fancy getting hold of a NEX-3 as the cheaper option to have a play, and see if I want to invest in the NEX-5n or NEX-7...
 
Same sensor and same IQ. As you've probably read the only differences are ; the Nex 5 having 1080 video, different materials, different size and the ability to use a remote control. Although I remember the DXO website showing minuscule differences in noise and dynamic range.
 
From what I've read they are the same. Apart from the video mentioned above.

If you get one you should havea go with manual lenses, the peaking function for manual focus work is genius.

I have the NEX 3. I think the NEX 5 is supposed to handle better as it has a better grip, never had a go on one though.
