Hey everyone.

Just wondered if anyone knew the best place to buy one of these, i have done a search and so far "Best Buy" is coming up at the best place to get one as they price match and give %10 of the difference back, but i wanted to check that there wasn't another place lurking in the distance that oculd do it cheaper.
Jessops have it at £479 and Best Buy £499, so it will be £479 plus 10% the difference back, (i'm sure i have just said that, :thinking: )
 
Currys had the NEX-5 with 18-55mm lens for £399 the other day, it's gone back up now though! Just noticed it as I was having a nose on the website. Wasn't a web exclusive deal, either.
 
I bought a Nex 5 with 16mm from Park Cameras for £399.

Sent it back as the images from the 16mm were poor. Great with manual focus lenses though so the sensor is very good. More lenses on the way though.

I guess that depends ;) I'm keeping the 16mm pancake for size reasons. The 18-55mm is too big IMO and I've just bought a 35/1.7 CCTV lens which is smaller and perfect for a 50mm effective length in low light :)

:thinking: is this a lens that fits the NEX5? what do you think of the pancake for image quality?
 
For some unknown reason the Nex 5 has suddenly shot up in price at many places & its nothing to do with the VAT rise back in Jan, I'm very glad I got mine at the right time.
The pancake lens has been given some flak, I have the 18-55 & would recommend others to get this kit.

This is the kit that should be with me tomorrow, i cant wait.

The pancake is OK, but a bit of an odd focal length...it's more suited to landscapes than people shots, for example.

The 35/1.7 is a manual focus CCTV lens with adapter. Paid well under £30.00 all in and it's a brilliant bit of kit :)
