Sony NEX5 - any good?

Peaking is a feature you can enable to aid focus. The sharpest focused (most contrasty) areas of the frame are made visible in one of three colours as you focus (you choose - white, yellow or red).

You download the firmware update from the Sony support website and follow the instructions given by the included application. Part of the process is obviously connecting your Nex to a PC via the standard USB cable.


Cheers for the info. Just to clarify, the Peaking function is something I can enable within the menu system? And is this function only available after I have updated the firmware?
 
Yep, that's right.

It will open a whole new world in old lenses :)

Have a look on YouTube, some video examples on how it works.
 
One thing I am finding with the Nex, is that the battery flattens pretty quickly. The battery can be flat after 2 weeks with no usage at all. Is that normal? :shrug:
