Hi Guys

I new to this forum and photography. I've purchased a Sony Nex5 with 18-55mm lens but wish to purchase a telephoto zoom lens for a trip to Dubai.

I will be using to take pics of the cricket while over there can anyone recommend a decent lens that won't break the bank??

If you want an AF lens, then you are severely limited I'm afraid.

Sony make the following:

Sony E 3.5-6.3/18-200mm OSS (SEL-18200, VX9103)
Sony E 4.5-6.3/55-210mm OSS (SEL-55210, VX9102)

Tamron makes the following:

Tamron 18-200MM F/3.5-6.3 DI III VC (not sure if it's out yet though)

Your only other option is to buy a Sony alpha adapter and use Minolta AF and Sony alpha lenses.

Many Nex users are adapting manual focus lenses to their Nex bodies...this is much cheaper but requires a good understanding of aperture and shutter speeds.
