I have the RX100 VI and find the AF superb, it will track everything i point it at with the 24-200 mm range useful outdoors.
Indoors it's ok, but due to the slower apertures of F4 at 100mm and F4.5 at 100+ mm and a 1 inch sensor it tends to use higher iso's above 3200 so can be noiser than I would like.
For indoors use a larger sensor camera would give better image quality as expected. Like most things in life it's a compromise between small sensor/ small body /slow aperture and larger body / sensor
