Mine arrived yesterday - of note, excellent service from Digital Rev - ordered Sat night, delivered Weds morning.
I did have a few concerns prior to buying:
1. AF speed
2. Control dial movement
3. Shutter noise
Pleased to report that AF speed is fast - equal with Nikon 1 I'd say;
the controls are just right, rear dial stiffer than Canon S95, front dial smooth and balanced and more pleasurable to use than Canon version. Command dial on top is not as "accurate" as the S95 (doesn't click in the same positive way) but is still stiff, but not too.
Shutter noise is a very slight "tick".
Phew!!
Generally S95 owners will feel very much at home and all the good stuff has been "copied" over. The only poor software feature is the Sony decision to have seperate files for stills and videos a la NEX. It really is awful and should be fixed.
The great extra is the ability to capture a still whilst using video. Other goodies: panoramic view and 3 sets of custom settings available.
Good (and lengthy and comprehensive) set of picture effects with the High Contrast Mono being very similar to the old Panny Dynamic B&W.
Everything works well, quickly and smoothly. The LCD is better too - less reflective than S95 and works very well in sunlight.
Overall a bit bigger than my S95 but still fits snugly into a Crumpler pp55 (old style). Great build quality.
IQ wise still too early to make definitive statements and I've obviously not had the chance to really put it thru it's paces but high ISO is better than S95 and IQ generally seems to be as good if not better @ the wide end as my GF3 with 14mm. (All Jpeg comparisons). Clearly it won't win any shallow DOF competitions. Auto white balance works very well.
So, in sum, very happy.
Is it worth twice the price of a S95? Probably not!
