Sopley Common on Velvia

Couple of shots taken at Sopley Common on Velvia 50 slide film with my Oly OM4ti in January.

View across a flooded area of land. Lens 24mm F2, F8

and log in ice. Lens 35-80mm F2.8, F11. Also used a polariser to boost the ice and take out reflections

They're both cracking. I love the way the pond leads you up to the trees in 1. The reeds (?) in the foreground break the blue of the water up nicely too. The vivid colour of the water, the ice lines/fractures and the tree line/border in 2 are great.
As you say, Film aint dead (altho try buying some in ASDA)

In the 1st, the path was flooded, due to the unsurprising weather here in the UK!, and it is grass rather than reeds. Not a botanist so don't what type exactly

I love the New Forest and the general area (l lived in Southampton for many years). So much there to grab the eye
