Day two and we went to Pompeii, I wasn't really bothered whether we went but my wife has always wanted to see it. I'm glad we did as it was absolutely fascinating and it shows just how advanced their civilisation was - running water, sewage system, an early form of cats eyes and the list goes on. Jan and I fell about laughing when I uttered the line from The Life of Brian "So what have the Romans ever done for us?", the Americans on the tour didn't get it. :D If you do go to the area I highly recommend it, but be sure to get a guided tour as you will miss most of the detail if you don't.

A couple of the ruins, the first with Vesuvius in the distance:

This part of the decoration from inside a brothel, as if you couldn't guess!

And just incase you couldn't find the brothel just follow the street signs...

Day two and we went to Capri, lovely island but very expensive and very crowded, this first image is from the town above the port.

We then went to Anacapri and this is from inside the Church of St Michel IIRC which had a beautiful tiled floor.

A chair lift took us to the top of Monte Solaro, the highest point on the island. I posted the first version of this yesterday but thought I'd try something a bit different with this one...

Lovely set(s) H!

I like the treatment on the last one but not too sure how you achieved it. care to share?

I trust you are suitably refreshed after your break.

Again lovely shots Hacker - our visit to Pompeii was marred by heavy rainfall but fascinating none the less. I was amazed by the wheel ruts and stepping stones - and the sheer size of the place! Never made to it Capri but did get an afternoon in the wonderful Positano!

Love the treatment on the last shot - it works well for me.

Thanks guys, yes suitably refreshed and all without the need for Natural Viagra!

On the final image I used a Plugin called Midnight Black after I'd converted it to mono, it really is a good plug in and can be used for all types of shots, there is also a midnight Sepia.

Did you sample the Lemoncillo! (we did buy a huge bunch of chillis which is hung in our kitchen although not for viagran reasons I hasten to add!)

smashing!

Been there got the T-Shirt. Great shots all except the last B&W which doesnt do anything for me. I find it hard to decipher, had to stare at it for several seconds before I could see the detail from the content.
