First time to this rally. Looked at the weather forecast and almost didn't go… glad I did as it was mostly dry, and the rain that did come down was quite light.
Walked all the way round the circuit so I could see what corners there were and then settled down at a variety of spots to see what I could get, here's some of my favourites:

No 20 hitting chicane

No 41

Sometimes the Sun shone, other times it was dull overcast or even raining.
I used a Canon 7dII and a Canon 70-200 f2.8 (non-IS)

I used some quite high shutter speeds (normally 1/2000 sec) as I like to freeze motion, but perhaps I could have used a lower speed such as 1/1000 sec to make the pictures brighter

There are more on my website if you're interested

Thanks for looking,

Ashley

I love motorsport events, sometimes you can get close up to the action at the smaller events and get some good shots. Must admit I do prefer 2 wheels ;-) Nice shots.

Very few motorsports togs use shutter speeds that high ,Ashley ,the aim is show wheel motion which can usually be achieved by 500 or less ,on rallies the average is near 325th or considerably lower for pans depending on the speed of vehicles . Freezing the action just makes the cars look parked . You might want to think of doing a few wider compositions to show the event rather just car shots .
