Spaces on a Macbook

Have you set it up in the expose/spaces thingy in the system menu? Just done it myself and it seems to work ok but you have to remember to tick the 'show spaces in dock' option or I'm assuming it won't appear.

Set it up in System Preferences and assign a hot corner - I use bottom-right - to bring up the spaces (I now use 4 after starting with 6). Very rarely change using the menu bar and don't even have in the dock.

You can also switch spaces with cmd and then any of the cursor keys.

The spaces application is in the applications folder so you should be able to drag it onto the dock. Mine was already there which is probably why mine works how you want yours to.

Aha. Yeah, my imac came with it already in the dock so I've never had to look for it in Applications. Never seen it there either as it was hiding in utilities. Ta for that.
