Was using giottos aluminium mtl 3261b over the weekend and the lower leg just jammed. It has been doing a bit of creeping for a while and had to keep adjusting via the screw. Anyway ,when i got home i stripped it down and could see that two small bits of moulded plastic that should sit in two holes had been worn away.I have searched for replacement clips but cant seem to be able to find any and was wondering if anyone had had similar problems and if so how was it fixed. It wasnt a really expensive tripod and i have had it several years but it would be good to keep as i use it a fair bit in water and sand.

Have you tried contacting Giottos direct? You'll probably find contact details on their website. The tripod may still be a current model or they may still have the spares you need. If used in salt water, make sure you rinse the wetted bits thoroughly - the thin layer of aluminium oxide is basicallly what some abrasive papers are coated with. Dry the legs after rinsing too - even a trace of salt left on the legs can cause corrosion.

Thanks NOd ,ive looked on their site but cant find any clamp parts. Plenty of plates ,collums and tubes but no clamps. Ill have to do a more in depth search. Maybee another make will have something that will fit.

John, try contacting them rather than just looking at a parts list on their site. I'm sure thay'll be able to give you a better idea than their web designer has! I would guess that their spares page only lists their most popular items - why waste bandwidth on the items maybe only 1 or 2 people have ever asked about?! :)

Thanks for advice ill have a look at daymen international and give em a ring. Thanks guys.
