Hi.

Thinking of buying my sisters a Digital Camera for Christmas instead of them using there iPhones and really old Digital Camera's all the time.

Looking for something nice, easy to use, good results etc.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Looking around the £70 mark if possible.

Thank you

I would stick with the iphone at that price. They take great shots and it's always with you.

+1

Do you even know they want an additional phone to carry about. May turn out to be one of those presents that sits in the cupboad?

yes they would like a camera. Just curious about what is any good out there

+1 on the Canon PowerShot SX150. For the price it is at the moment I can't see anything better. If I was going for a compact for everyday use instead of carrying a dslr about I'd be happy enough with it.

I have a Samsung Galaxy smartphone and I've only ever taken about 20 photos on it and wasn't impressed too much by the results. I never even think about using my phone to take a pic TBH, I'd rather have a dslr or a compact if not.

I have the iphone 5 and very rarely use it for taking pics. I bought an Rx100 recently for those times I don't want the big cam with me. I think just about any compact though, will offer better image quality than an iphone. The images are ok from that, until you view them large. Fine for facebook I guess.

That canon looks good for the money. My missus is looking for a cam for her Dad, he doesn't have a camera phone and just wants to take pictures of plants. Looks perfect, will put her on to it.
