Spec me a crumpler shoulder bag please

Hi all
I need a crumpler shoulder bag but looking at all the different designs and all the names they use I'm baffled at the momment:thinking::shrug:. So I require some help please.
My equipment is
Sony A55
Sigma 18-250
Minolta 50mm f1.7
2xbatteries
And a couple of memory cards.
The a55 with the lens attached is 19cm in length.

Looking at Crumpler "Pretty Boy" Camera Bag at the moment

Best to find somewhere you can look at them. They are always very generous with their size descriptions. Do you need a crumpler? There are plenty of other makes out there.
 
i got one of the crumpler messenger boy 5500 models, its good but if your carrying it full all day it can get very heavy on just one shoulder, but it does look good, id recomend getting the biggest one you can afford/find as there internal dimensions are very well padded and are maybe not as generous as you would have thought....
 
Always get a bigger bag than you need as you will fill the space.

I have a muffin top 3000 great for the camera with kit lens and could hold the 50mm and the flash over the top but I soon outgrew that I now have a new Delhi 620 which I thought had loads of space which it does but is now also full and I could do with a bigger one.

I was looking at the jimmy bo's as they are quite large especially the 600 and 700 but no good for a gripped body but they have plenty of space for an extra small lens and a flash gun in the main pocket and pockets for batteries and cards.

I am now looking at the cupcake 5000 for when I don't want to take more than the camera and a flash gun. It fits perfectly. but you are best if you can get to a crumpler shop and try the bags out with your kit, I went to London when buying the new Delhi, then they opened a shop in Manchester.
 
I have a Pretty Boy XXL (think its also known as the 7500) carry a Canon 40D with 17-55mm attached and a 10-22mm along with other sundry items like spare battery, lenspen, memory cards, phone and specs

I agree with Jim; never seen a Crumpler yet which would take the kit they say it will. Not knocking the brand though; i own several items made by them but the best advice is, as others have suggested, go with your kit to a stockist and try it in a few.

+1 have a shoulder bag and backpack and both are tight and won't take the kit they infer. That said I think they are great bags and better than many on the market and will have another one but probably a full backpack. Price on ebay always good
 
Thanks for all the good advice lads, decided to go for the crumpler pretty boy xl. Will only be taking the A55 18-250 lens 2 batteries and a couple of memory cards. travelling light is the future for me.
 
crumplers looks and sounds good from adverts, but check them out in store, they tend to be quite big exterior, but inside is tight on space on most
 
I would also reccomend checking it out in person if you can.

I have the Prettyboy XXXL and it is a lot smaller than what I expected.

I can just about squeeze in it my gripped 550d with Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 fitted, with 70-200mm f/4 L. There is a pocket on the front under the flap for batteries etc, so I suspect the XL size will be fine for you, but if you can then do try before you buy!
 
I think the problem with what they spec the bags will carry they base it on consumer lenses and bodys without battery grips. They also seem to be bodys without a lens attached. f/2.8 L zooms are a lot wider than 3.5-5.6 lenses and take up quite a bit more space.

I have a pretty bella full backpack and it fits 2 lenses with bodys attached and a canon 1.4 teleconvertor. ok the lenses are 24-70 2.8IS and a 300mm 2.8IS and both have bodys mounted but there is also the pockets for cards and stuff.
 
i have a lowepro slingshot 200 aw which i hardly use now, as don't carry the kit, but it's a decent size shoulder back pack, not huge, not small.

back when i used it i could have sony a300 body with lens on, and have enough room for my tamron wide angle, sony 18-200, flash and bits and bob. worth a look away from crumpler.
