Spec me a strong reliable strap?

Hi, i am looking for a strong reliable comfy strap for my canon 400d that will be gripped and at most, be attached to a 70-200mm f2.8 mk2 lens and possibly a 430ex2 flash.

Any suggestions? budget is around £60

i heard good things about the black rapid strap? any good for my needs?
 
op/tech pro straps are very good, i've had a 5dmk2 + grip + 70-200 2.8 IS attached to one with no issues at all. They are about £20 if I remember correctly.

Black Rapid RS7, is very comfortable only £49 at warehouseexpress and comes with the quick fastener as well. Then also use quidco for a little bit of cashback..
 
Optech Pro all the way :)
 
Do the optech's come with a tripod connector? I find the way the black rapid hangs by the tripod connector is a lot of what makes the comfort.

The OpTech utility strap isn't fit for purpose imo, when shooting the strap gets in your face too much. I added a Black rapid FastenR to mine to attach to the tripod point to get round the issue but I really should have just sold it and gone for a black rapid.

If you don't want a sling strap the OpTech Pros look great and are also cheap, otherwise for a sling get one designed to use the tripod point, it's just better.
 
i have a black rapid RS4 and an optech pro. i prefer the comfort of the RS4 but i dont like the attchment being on the grip. takes a bit of getting used to holding it for portrait shots.

used on a gripped 50d and 70-200 f4 L mostly
 
I have been looking for a better strap for my camera, I like the look of the Sun-sniper steel.

Yes, I found that with a sling strap attached to the strap point it was just a pain. I added a BR fastenR and it completely fix the issue for me.

If you want a sling look at the BR range, Sun Sniper Range or if money is an issue the eBay Quick Straps seem to be getting good reviews. If you just want a better normal strap the OpTech Pro straps seem hard to be beat for the money.

I think that sums it up....

For me, i couldn't really justify that much on a BR, so went for the quick strap, after reading loads of reviews...

Got it the other day, seems well made...I jsut can't get used to it being attached at the tripod mount point...I keep thinking its going to fall off!! :bang::'(
 
which to me is exactly the reason to go for the original product opposed to a cheaper knock off. Perhaps unfounded but to me saving 20 quid whilst risking thousands of pound of equipment falling on the concrete is not worth it.

black rapid strap it is then. thanks! when it comes to camera gear. dont skimp on it especially a strap that holds it all together!
 
I'm not doubting the quality of the product! Just the way it is connected to the camera....but that's the same as the BR.

I suppose it just takes a little while to get used to that's all.....

Its not just me then! Thats what i thought i click and the strap is off with your camera unless im missing something!
 
Sun sniper pro is all you need. Not cheap, but then the best never is! Roller bearing tripod mount connector so no messy twists / tangles, a wire reinforced strap that's slashproof with a knife, a shock absorbing section and shoulderpad too! Oh and money paid out should your gear be stolen whilst using one of these straps !!!

If you're worried about this, just buy a BUCK (see: http://www.blackrapid.com/product/mods/buck/). Yes, another £10, but it fits through and around the quick release making it impossible to unclip the clip.

The great thing about the clip is you can buy an extension piece which lengthens the strap. This is especially useful if you're very tall or have some padding (or both - like me ;))
 
PS. It's only some straps that come with the QR - RS 4, 5 and W1 DON'T have the QR on them for example.

Not just a cover - it threads through the two end clips so that even if someone grabs it and tries to unclip it with the cover in place, it is impossible for it to come undone. Difficult to describe, very difficult to see in any online images and takes 5 minutes to work out when you have the thing in your hand.....
 
After a lot of soul searching at the cost and how I prefer to carry my 300+extender I purchased an RS7 wish I had done it earlier excellent bit of kit imvho

The connector if you worried about sonmebody tampering with it black insulation tape ;)
