Having sold my 400D a couple of years ago, I desperately miss the photos that it would produce.

I'm after something new now, but would prefer something a little more portable. Something along the lines of the Olympus Pen, but I have a budget of around £200.

Whatever it is, I at least want to be able to get some filters for it without spending the earth, interchangeable lenses would be good but not essential. I like playing with DoF so I'm not sure if this is a consideration in the kind of camera I'm looking for - I understand there is much more to it than a large aperture.

Alternatively, if I can get a decent SLR that is significantly better for the money, I'll also consider that, but everything seems to have gone up in price since I last played with a camera - I only paid £220 for my 400D and Kit lens two years ago and they seem to fetch more now.

The best advice I can give you is go out and buy another 400D cos good as they are the little M43 camera's still cant touch the DSLR on IQ

M43 cameras are excellent for providing significantly better quality than a compact camera, without the size/weight of a DSLR.

however, they do have smaller sensors, so the DoF is larger and perhaps trickier to be creative with. Having said that, it'll still be a much smaller DoF than a compact would give you. And the olympus lenses/ leica lenses are very good.

It seems a lot of members on this site now have GF1s or PENs to complement their DSLR kit, as they're small enough to take anywhere.
