Speed In Seconds

[SnapAway]

I'm looking through my camera manual and cannot fing the secion on speed in seconds but what I do have is a set of numbers can somebody please translate

Shutter Speed=
15"- 1 In 1/3 EV increments
1 - 1/2000 In 1/3 EV increments

What does this mean in seconds as I'm looking to time fireworks @ about 3-5 secs.

Is 3" = 3 seconds
Is 3 = 3 seconds

Thanks

3" is 3 seconds, 3 is 1/3 of a second. Cameras tend to display fractions of a second without the 1/ which is why they use " to differentiate.

Hope that helps.
