I am after a stand and umbrella set up that can be used with my canon speedlights, don't want to spend loads...more of a trial kind of thing, anyone give me done tips or ideas ?

For a stand if used indoor have a look at the konig ones on Amazon. I bought one it is not bad for the price.

You will also need a holder for the speed light and umberella.

Are there any kits available ? It's to be used for an indoor group shot and the lighting can be a little unpredictable and I'm guessing this would be my best option ?

Do you have a (spare) tripod?
the swivel bracket that holds the umbrella and flash has a screw thread so you can use the mounting plate from your tripod instead of a light stand. I've also found tripods to be more stable and flexible in their positioning, (adjustable legs.)
If you're outside remember to add extra weight to the base to keep it stable; Umbrellas catch the wind easily.

I do have a spare tripod, I was thinking of setting up 2 umbrellas, one either side...it's indoors so wind not an issue

Thanks for all the info peeps, been a great help once again :)
