Is a Speedlight Yongnuo 460 II Speedlight OK for general use on my 7D £39 looks good ?
Never used one before and is it worth buying ? when are they used over the normal built in flash? Thank you

It's a basic manual flash, normally used in a multi gun set up where auto exposure control is not so useful. You really need to spend a bit more.

The advantage of a separate gun is much more power and a swivel/tilt head so you can bounce it, or use modifiers. If all you do is stick it on your camera and fire it direct, then it won't be much different to using the pop-up.
