Speedlite batteries

Hey,

I shoot a lot with my flash unit off camera on a tripod for, and obviously get through quite a batteries in the process. I own the canon 430exii which sadly doesn't allow for an external battery pack it seems like the 580ex ii does. So I just wanted to find out what would be the best rechargeable batteries to get so I have a quicker recycling time but also so I don't have to change them after taking a few shots.

Loads of people will recommend the Sanyo Eneloop ones......i persoanlly along with others am happy with the 7dayshop 'good to go' ones.....

I have a 580EXII and three 430Ex for portable studio use. Eneloops all the way. You can leave them in your bag for weeks and they still hold charge.

Just got Eneloops from 7dayshop in cases. I bought the special offer of 8 which cames with little blue and white cases to keep your batteries in-just about £12 elivered i think.

Oh thanks, I will look at Eneloops. They seem to have a good deal on a pack of 4 with a charger so might get that!

High capacity 2500mAh and low discharge.
I accidentally left one of my 580 EXIIs switched on for a few months...I know it goes into power save but I was still impressed that the batteries were still fresh and with a fast recharge time. I have a yongnyo external battery pack from ebay which works very well, this allows the flash to be powered by 12 AAs in total. Very fast.

No, I use a 7dayshop 1 hour charger with mine!

I've got one of those Unitoss 15 min chargers which is great for speed but seems to have a habit of ruining batteries after about 30 charges?

I have used all kinds and find eneloops the best.

eneloops, panasonic infiniums and 7ds 'good to go' are all good.

Then again, I get through them all regularly, no 3 month breaks between uses...
