Don't want to sound dumb but I'm new to photography I've purchased and awaiting delivery of a Flash gun yongneu yn 468 and I want to mount it on the camera's hot shoe (canon550d) at times but also use it firing into a studio umbrella for some portraiture at home, I believe my camera dosent have a connection for a sync lead so I'm after info on which wireless trigger would be best, I believe the flash gun supports TTL (whatever that is)

How do the wireless triggers work can you add more Flashes at a later date,will they all fire in sync?

TTL is a feature which determines flash exposure compensation. It works by firing a pre-flash (you won't be able to notice it) and from it, calculates how powerful the flash needs to be in order to give a correct exposure, with respect to your other camera settings. The YN 468 features TTL, but not wireless TTL. So you'll have to fire in manual mode.

I'm not sure if all wireless trigger works the same way. But if you were to get something like the YN 602/3, then the trigger would sit on the camera hotshoe, with the flashgun connected to the receiver. When you press the shutter, the trigger communicates with the receiver to let it know to fire the flash. As it works using radio frequency, yes you can buy more flashguns and receivers to fire at the same time.

I can't comment on compatibility with different triggers/receivers/flashguns though.

Just to clarify, you can use TTL when the flash is directly attached to the camera. The way it was written above doesn't make that clear.
