are you concerned at all re thinking you have the camera clicked in, letting it go and its not....
 
Yes, that's the other thing I didn't like about the holster and I guess it's the same issue for the OEM version too. I was paranoid about having it clicked into place before letting go of my grip. That also slowed me down since with harness I know I can just let go.

It get's easier/quicker as you get used to using the system. I let the holster pull the camera from my hand as I continue lowering my hand. That way I know it's "caught" without really having to verify. I do still have to glance down to see the pin is lined up in order to holster it.
 
so it arrived today and i have to say its pretty sturdy looking. Cant compare it to the original as i have never tried one but have been walking around with 2 cameras and lenses attached and it feels pretty good. will do a full review once i have used it at a wedding. I like the fact that i can unclip both bodies quickly.

the added bonus was that i paid £38 quid as they were running a bidding auction alongside the fixed price. the pads could do with being a bit longer on it.
 
Erm....is this a good time to mention that mine snapped at the weekend?

At the back where the belt joins, there's only a plastic clip and that snapped. Thankfully I was like a ninja and managed to react in like a split second and caught the cameras before they fell onto the floor. At the time I was wearing my D600's, one with the 24-70 and the other with the 70-200.

I've emailed them for a refund for obvious reasons. Unfortunately it seems the old adage buy cheap, buy twice is painfully true. That said I did go into it knowing it was a risk. Just thought it would last longer than my second wedding.
 
i just looked at that clip, yep, looks pretty crap. cheers for the heads up, will head to B&Q at the weekend or look on amazon to see if i can get a metal / steel version and swap it...

any thing else on it feel like its about to give?

gonna check all the buckles and replace with metal ones if need be, can get them on tinternet..

Thanks for the offer that looks great but how do you intend to attach it? The only way I can see is to unstitch the webbing on both sides slip the metal adjust in then re-sew it. I'm not sure i trust my sewing skills enough.

ahh, i only looked quickly and i didnt think they were sewn. I thought they were velcroes and held by another belt clip.

If not, its back to the crabiner as thet can be slotted in.....

Will have a more detailed look later.
 
I got one of these the other day after seeing it on this thread. After reading the latter posts today I had a closer look and yes, it does seem a bit flimsy.
I started thinking whether there was a way to integrate it with my lowepro light utility belt after deciding I'm not 100% ok with it in it's current form so have just spent the last 2 hours sweating & swearing doing just that, and I'm quite impressed with the result!
Ok, I've lost the dual body carry (and I appreciate that this is why most people get the dual holster in particular - in retrospect I could have just got the single for my use had I known) but I've now got a holster, back and side packs on the utility belt with the loops and the added advantage of a safety / support shoulder strap should I want it.
I'll be able to carry a body + lens, additional lens (or even 2 if I really want to!) in neoprene bags, filters, spare cards, etc all on the one harness system.
I'll update when I actually use it in anger if anyone's interested but for what it's worth here's a pic:

I know this is negating the whole point of the dual system but for those who are ok with carrying a single body on them (and have the 2nd body close to hand or even in a small shoulder-slung lowepro or similar) it does what I need! Tried it on earlier and it's pretty comfy and well padded on the inside of the harness belt.
The only thing I needed to do was unpick one lot of stitching so I can always just get that restitched if I desperately want to go back to just the dual harness. So overall, it turned out not fulfilling the original point of buying it, but gave me a good system nonetheless!

I ordered a pair of these as part of a add-on order. I've used one and am far happier now about carrying weight. The buckle itself looks a lot sturdier than the rear bar which is/was a thin piece of plastic.

That said given my past two weeks even without the break, i'm not sure holster carrying is for me. I can see the point if you get back pain but i don't and I prefer the speed of the harness so I've treated myself to a Blackrapid DR1. I am aiming to get the D4s later this year once all my wedding clients have paid up so I really don't want to be hanging a D4s off my waist from a holster.

I'll keep it for a bit and see what happens. I may whack it on classifieds for a knock down price given how much it would cost for me to return it to China even if they do offer me a refund (which I doubt somehow)
