Were could I buy a pro 'spirit level bubble' from please? It's for landscape photography.

Seen top notch quality ones that fit into the hotshoe, a kind of large ish square item, chunky looking, not flimsy. Any links/advice would be greatly appreciated.

I was 1/2 expecting that myself at first...... especially as someone HAS nicked the bubble out of the level on my manfrotto grip head :suspect: all I have left is the little tank where it used to swim around.
 
Looking at getting one of those myself.
7dayshop have bubble ones for £5.29 delivered.
Also spotted the LED 'digital' ones on 7dayshop for around a tenner, anyone ever used one or are the bubble ones perfectly adequate? :shrug:
 
I have a digital one, bought on a whim. Never used it as the dam thing needs to be calibrated against a level surface.. for which a regular level is required. Unless you're shooting in the dark without a torch.. get a bubble one.
 
Just been looking at reviews for those cheap bubble ones, seems they're not very accurate. :shake:
Probably more accurate to take the shot by eye then tweak it in PP. ;)
 
A bubble will always be accurate, it's been tried and tested for years and was good enough to get the Buildings of the world straight :D

Surely any level of inaccuracy comes from users not being able to center the bubble.

What if the lines either side of the bubble aren't accurate, the voids containing the fluid aren't level within the cube or the whole thing just doesn't sit in the hotshoe squarely?
Take an el-cheapo spirit level, level it then turn it 180 degrees, you'll probably find it's no longer level. ;)
 
I just use the one that came built in with my 7D if I need one. I've got 2 built into my tripod as well so I use those if necessary. You can get the hotshoe levels on ebay for a few quid. I don't think any particular bubble is extra special so you shouldn't need an expensive one.

Inert gas bubbles can be more accurate with Radon and Sulphur Hexaflouride being the most accurate but obviously a bit pricier than 'air'.
