Yes
Is there a cable splitter available for having 2 flashes just off camera?
I know you can get an off camera flash cable so that you can place the flash just to the side... but wondered if there was a cable around that would enable me to have one to the left and one to the right of the camera?

Been searching but can't find anything.

Only other way would be to have wireless flash triggers, but the fact they would all be almost mounted to the camera would make it a bit cumbersome...

edit: wrong section, should have posted this in lighting sorry.

Not wanting to hijack this thread, BUT, can anyone point me in the direction of a normal single flash cord that works (and doesn't cost a fortune)?

^^^I'm pointing :D

Back on topic....

I'm pretty sure There is a twin hotshoe, y-shaped ttl cord available from Nissin or someone like that....

You can get flash cables (check Linkdelight) which go from one hotshoe connection to two hotshoe connections to allow you to use two flashes, but with a couple of caveats:

  1. The two flashes will need to be identical models if you are going to use them with eTTL - I suspect with manual flash it wouldn't make a difference as it's just a simple trigger anyway, but I'm not 100% on this as I tend not to use manual flash)
  2. When using eTTL with two flashes hooked up in this way the eTTL treats the output as if it was a single flash, so things like ratios, differing FEC, different groupings etc aren't possible. (obviously you could create ratios in other ways - e.g. moving one flash further away or using nd gel)
This applies to Canon (no idea about Nikon I'm afraid) and seems to work with the PocketWizard mini/flex combo. (I'm planning to use one of these cables so that I can put two flashes in a softbox without the extra expense of an additional PW)

Ebay item no 390191068454

canon make a system where you can plug several into an adapter, its like hotshoes cables and splitters

mifsuds carry them but I don't know much

what might work is a 580 on one side on a ttl cable with a 430 slaved
