I take it that an EVF with peaking isn't an option? (I'm presuming that you want this for manual focusing)

Canon's latest and greatest, the 1Dx, will take their split image screens.

That's not an original manufacturers(Canon) screen though,is it?
As above, the 1Dx uses EC-x screens and has menu settings to support them.So do Canon still support interchangeable focusing screens right up to and including their latest FF EOS 1Dx 18mp camera.And the EOS 7?![]()

It appears Nikon at least have abandoned the idea of split screen and any from of interchangeable focusing screens?![]()
There are third party split prism screens available for Nikons, LINK, not much of a job to change them, I replaced my D300 screen after I scratched it, took a couple of minutes.
To be honest though, I use several MF lenses with my D700 and find no problem focusing with the standard screen, and using the focus indicator in the viewfinder.
