Spotting scope attachment

I have a spotting scope and seem to remember some one last year mentioned there was a THING that I can attach to either my camera or scope or both that means I will be able to take lunar / star shots ? I have just seen the international space station whizzing past as our local news said it would be going past. I was surprised at the speed of the thing, as I focused in on it it was way out of shot before I pressed the trigger.
