Now we have booked to go back to Scotland, I'm thinking about a spotting scope again as sold my Nikon ED82 last year to help fund a lens, what are people using now? I cannot decide what to do from sending hand Nikon ED60, ED50, Vanguard Endeavor HD 82A as on sale at £399 new and love their equivalent binos I have, and even second hand Swarovski ATS65HD but they are over £700 second hand but would probably have to sell or trade one of my lenses to get a Swarovski

Suggestions welcome,

Have you checked In Focus Adam, they have a good selection including S/H ... shop at Slimbridge or online of course :)
Thanks Roger, had a quick look online guess I need to pay them a visit though to see what they really like to use

For second hand also try Focus Optics near Coventry LINK

99% of birdwatching kit is well looked after, and Focus have a great reputation for their customer service
Thanks Martyn
Thanks Carlos I've had a look there very good reviews, I'd like to hear from users of some especially the vanguard

had quite a few including Swarovski in the past Kowa are very good , I use a pentax one now, 80mm with a Baader Hyperion Eyepiece, really good view, just as good as the Swarovski, all depends how much you want to spend.

Thanks Mark, I had the nikon ed82 and thought it was brilliant for a lot less money than Swarovski, it's good to hear views on other makes too, ideally around £400 -£500 max but not ruling out more if it was right one as it would be a long term purchase :)

I bought an Acuter angled scope over 4 years ago after reading quite a few reviews (& also fancied trying digiscoping) It was around the £250 mark I think.

Although it was very good, I couldn't be ar5ed to carry it when loaded with camera gear & I used it 3 times before putting it back in it's box.

It's only 3 weeks ago I traded it in when I bought the D7200 & got about £65. Pity you weren't looking for one then.
