I know what you mean Robert but these are tiny about 2mm long and if you try and maneuver them they just spring off :) I got 2 shots of Orchesella cincta and unfortunately this was the better of them. I'm not to keen on the flash on the leaf either. :-(
 
Are these hefty crops then or were you using some sort of macro attachment lens?

I never had much success using close up filters with my fz30 but didn't bite the bullet and go for something sensible like the raynox ones.

Yes it was with the Raynox DCR 250 and cropped slightly. Full zoom and manual focused as short as it gets.
