Hello all, here are some recent Springtail shots. They vary in size between 1.5 and 7mm. All shots are with the 350D, MPe-65, MT24ex and are focus stacked from multiple frames for an increased DOF.

Just stunning work Alastair, are you shooting inside as these look very clean shots. I guess the water keeps them pretty still too, did you spray also for the droplets? :clap:

Personally I prefer the "full body" to the real close-ups though

Thank you Alby :D I do indeed bring these inside and shoot them in a small macro studio. I find them all the time floating on the small puddles of water that collect on the compost bin but its impossible to get the angles to shoot at high mags. It also allows me to experiment with different coloured backgrounds. I did mist a couple. I release them back outside afterwards.
