You do realise that on private property you have to inform the person that you are recording the conversation?
It's nice to have the recording but as far as I am aware, unless they are informed you could never use it in any legal means.
FYI the DSS ALLOW recordings to take place, however, even covertly you/they have no argument, whilst it is not admisaable as evidence in court, anyone can do as I did and send it to the Director of the DSS, MP, newspaper and more, who needs court and that IS legal.
A full DVD clearly showing a member of staff giving false information, complaining about the lack of staff training and them making errors is enough to not worry about court. Also remember, when as I am, a single parent, interviewed every 12 weeks, when they update your records on the computer ALL previous records of the interviews prior are wiped, unless you remember to ask for a printout of the interview if a year or more TWO years in my case, you need them, tough, 14 years in the C Service, and I keep all records. Telephone, meetings and more and they have paid dividends that are worth their weight in gold.
Also they used your flawed argumant when sending me their guidence, and as I stated there are NO signs in the DSS stating photography, recordings etc are not allowed.
I also have a letter from the Director stating that whilst they were unhappy (You better believe it hence the compensation) anyone can record, however they prefer you not to in the "open" areas, as I was in a private room, there you go.
Another thing that really gets my back up are teachers who say "you can't photograph little Sids Christmas play or record it" It's the people with spy pen cams etc they need to worry about not us with DSLR's and Vids, remember that when people here have a teacher complainging next time.
